Toxicology is more an area of forensic science, pharmacy or pharmacology
departments.  Rather than teaching toxicology in chemistry courses, it might
be best to create elective team taught courses with colleagues from these
areas if one were interested.


To continue my cynical contributions to this discussion, take a look at an
MSDS for sand [2]


It is this sort of thing that makes it hard to teach chemical safety in lab
courses.  Remember, the students have no background to evaluate any of this
and if you discount it for them there are legal issues lurking.
