Yes, it's useful to bring the value of the Avagadro constant into the
definition of the mole.  What is lost in doing so is the basis of the atomic
mass scale of carbon-12 as exactly 12.00000... as it is no longer part of the
definition.  It's a small matter as the uncertainty introduced in the mass
of carbon-12 makes little difference in the practice of chemistry.
